Starting in the early 90s in Mumbai, dance fitness was not a new idea for Priya who was a keen aficionado, dabbling in several different fitness concepts through Jazzercise, Jane Fonda aerobics, for housewives and working professionals who favored her academy in India. More recently Priya studied Pilates and Zumba. She realized that all Bollywood fitness was primarily geared towards younger age groups and there was nothing specifically suitable for mature adults or adults struggling with weight or health issues.
She pioneered “Bolly-Boomers” for those over 60. Today these amazing ladies who dont’ speak a word of Hindi or any Indian language, not just attend her class regularly but also participate with Priya in many a showcase, inspiring others at their age to try something new ..and to never give up adding challenge to life to make it meaningful!
