Bollywood Dance for Seniors (Active Adults), Raleigh
This class is perfect for anyone in your friend or family circle who is above or near 55 and enjoys dance! A fun foreign cultural dance, it offers an excellent opportunity to develop co-ordination through its many varied movements. This is a low impact class that they may like to participate in as a way to build new skills or just get some fun exercise with others their age! This class, specifically designed for seniors has minimal impact on knee, ankle and other vulnerable areas, hence perfect for those who enjoy dancing minus the risk of injury!
Dancing and exercise are great for seniors. The movement of dance improves circulation, lowers blood pressure, reduces stress and eases tension. Originally they may do it for the health benefits, but what really happens is that they discover they are having a great time as they are up, moving, socializing, learning new skills, while helping keep mental faculties sharp, and taking a new experience in life. Dance is statistically proven to be the best fighter against the onset of Alzheimer’s and dementia : during dance, the brain is required to make rapid-fire, split-second decisions. These skills increase cognitive reserve and build new neural pathways.
Participation encouraged in community functions with festive Bollywood dance displays helps brings back a renewed interest to their everyday life and engage in the diverse community around. Dance lessons help many develop a more positive self-esteem and a more positive outlook on life.
If you know someone who can benefit from this stimulating exciting dance class, please let them know!
