Bollywood Dance at the Asian American Foundation Musical & Festive Night @NSCU Stewart Theatre
Indigo Dance Academy Coach & Choreographer Priya Chellani presented a stupendous, exciting high energy Bollywood dance show on the occasion with 17 students of all ages. Decked in very multi-colored garb that reflected the colorful and vibrant soul of Indian culture, music and dance, Adults, Teens and kids as young as 5, all took to the stage at various points in the 10 minute presentation, that included some current chart-topping hits of Bollywood with strong influences of Punjabi bhangra interspersed with modern hiphop nuances. Members of the audience were seen swaying, bopping, and clapping along as the dancers enthralled with their fast-paced coordinated energetic moves and colorful costumes. The curtain call was to none other than the heady beats of the Bhangra Dhol played by Deepak of Charlotte- that saw the audience clapping and cheering in tandem all the way to a rousing foot-tapping crescendo! Here are some snippets of audience reactions….
